Find The Farm

Welcome to Stroud Community Agriculture

Stroud Community Agriculture is a new type of sustainable farming.
Built on cooperation and mutual support the risks and rewards of farming are shared between the farmers and consumers. The consumers commit themselves to supporting the farm and providing a fair income for the farmers. The farmers can then develop the health and fertility of the farm, its wildlife and environment. All the produce from the farm is shared between the supporting consumers or sold locally if there is a surplus.

New - Milk Share Opportunity
We have found a farmer producing unpasteurised, non-homogenised milk and cream and would like to get together a group of SCA members to make it worth while bringing it over from Bosbury near Ledbury. The farm also makes ice cream from this milk but, by law, ice cream has to be pasteurised. - Find out more...

Share the Farm
We lease 23 acres at Hawkwood less than 1 mile from the centre of Stroud. This is a beautiful and tranquil location and has been farmed organically for many years. We also lease 23 acres of land at Brookthorpe, three miles away on the way to Gloucester. Our members support the farmers to produce their food. The farmers receive a reasonable wage and everyone shares high quality, locally-grown organic vegetables and meat.

Share the Fun
There is an active community life around the farm with picnics, shared meals, bonfires, night time walks, seasonal festivals and children’s activities. Members do not have to contribute work though many do, and we have regular community workdays. Non members are welcome at our events.

Plant your money locally
We want to expand the farm to feed more local people. As we get more members we will look to extend the range of produce we offer. This may include dairy produce, lamb, eggs and soft fruit.

Members collect vegetables each week and can also buy a share of the meat, if they want to. Everyone pays a monthly contribution towards the farm and a fee for their share of the produce.

We want to encourage people from all backgrounds and income groups to get involved and have set up a small bursay fund to provide help if needed.
