Plant Dyeing and Eco Printing Workshop
Thursday 29 October, 10am–4pm, Oakbrook Community Farm
Spend a day discovering the colours and patterns hidden in leaves, flowers and other plants. Led by Charlie Ryrie, this practical workshop will introduce you to natural dyeing and eco printing on silk, paper and wool - including the chance to print your own unique silk scarf to take home.
Eco printing, also known as botanical printing, transfers the shapes, colours and textures of plants directly onto fabric or paper. Charlie will cover the basics of dyeing wool, silk, cotton and linen; how to choose suitable plants; and how different fabrics and colours affect the finished result.
You don’t need any previous experience or specialist equipment. You’ll leave with your finished scarf and the knowledge to continue experimenting at home.
Places are limited to six participants - book below.
£120 for SCA members
