Founded in 2001, SCA has built a thriving community around the production of food.

Our members receive a weekly share of fresh, seasonal, organic vegetables grown right here on the farm, alongside the option to buy locally sourced eggs, apple juice, bread, and meat.

But unlike a typical veg box scheme, our farm is built on a deeper relationship between people and the land. Your membership directly supports us - helping to fund the growers, protect the soil, and keep sustainable, local food production alive. In return, you share in the rewards of the harvest, as well as the natural ups and downs of the seasons. It’s a more honest, resilient way of producing food.

And it doesn’t stop at the veg. SCA is a thriving community, with (optional!) opportunities throughout the year to get involved. Whether its singing to the cows at Christmas, sipping on a cup of soup at our Bonfire Night celebrations, or joining our thriving Wednesday morning volunteer sessions, there's something for everyone.

How does the farm work?

SCA is run by and for its members – everyone has a vote, and all members can have their say on the running of the farm at our Members’ AGM. The goals of our farm are simple.

  • We want to grow a rich variety of crops, livestock and other projects that both meet the needs of the farm and the community who eat our produce.
  • We want to pay our fantastic farm team – who work so hard, come rain or shine – a fair wage.
  • We want to provide opportunities for as many people as possible to make connections to the farm, and to nature, in whatever ways work for them.
  • We want to manage the farm in a way that is sustainable and sensitive to the ecological system that we are all part of.
