SCA is a thriving community-supported organic farm, run by and for its members.
Stroud Community Agriculture is part of the wider CSA movement - a network of farms that aim to build strong communities around the production of food. Rather than simply buying produce as customers, our members help support the farm itself, sharing in both the rewards and the realities of seasonal farming.
Members pay an annual membership fee and receive a generous share of the farm’s harvest, including fresh seasonal vegetables, with the option to buy additional high-welfare organic meat, dairy and other local produce. Everything grown on the farm is certified organic and biodynamic.
But SCA is much more than a veg box scheme. Community sits at the heart of what we do. Members can volunteer on the farm, join seasonal celebrations and take part in events throughout the year - from our much-loved Farm Fest and fireworks-free Bonfire Night with homemade soup, to Harvest Festival feasts and singing carols to the cows at Christmas.
We also encourage members to share skills, knowledge and creativity with one another. Over the years this has included workshops and gatherings around scything, foraging, onion plaiting, wildlife walks, storytelling, cooking and recipe sharing. Through growing, learning and celebrating together, we build deeper connections — not just with our food, but with the land, the seasons and each other.
How it works
We’re a living alternative to destructive industrial agriculture. This is how we do it.
History of our farm
Since our humble beginnings way back in 2001, we've come a long way. Here’s how we got here.
Volunteer
Why not join us on a Wednesday morning to help sowing, planting, harvesting or much more besides!
