Terms of Use

Community users have responsibility for managing risks arising from their own activities, so far as reasonably practicable, when they have control of the building or control of equipment on the premises.

SCA has undertaken reasonable measures to ensure the building, and any equipment or substances provided there, are safe for the purposes of general use for which they were intended. No unattended, unprotected candles please – at all. This is a straw bale house that we all love.

Please inform SCA if you notice any safety issues during your use of the building. There is a comments book, or/and you can email bookings@stroudcommunityagricultre.org. General use of the building is covered by SCA insurance. Any groups using the building should also have their own public liability insurance.

Please leave the building clean and tidy and take your rubbish with you – this is to help keep creatures away and be welcoming for the next users. Ensure that the electric lights and gas hob are turned off. If using the log burner, ensure it is left in a safe state to burn out with its door shut.

There is no paid caretaker which helps to keep costs low. We are all caretakers.

Please be aware that the building is located on a working farm which includes a barn, hay bales (not to be climbed on), electric fences, tractors and other farm machinery. Should users wish to explore the farm they do so at their own risk. Please be respectful of the working environment. Any children should be accompanied by an adult and always remain the responsibility of the accompanying adult.

Cancellation Policy

  1. A £5 non-refundable cancellation fee will be charged to cover admin costs to SCA.
  2. If you cancel more than 2 weeks in advance of your event you will be refunded 100% minus the £5 booking fee.
  3. If you cancel within 7-14 days of your event 50% of your payment will be reimbursed.
  4. If you cancel with less than a week to your event then there is no reimbursement.
  5. If you haven’t booked a minimum of 2 hours then we will cancel your booking and ask you to re-book as appropriate. See note 1.
  6. We reserve the right to cancel your booking if it doesn’t align with SCA values.
